The Cardinal “Don’ts” of Car Washing
Left to our own devices, all car owners make at least one of these bone-headed blunders. This list is to prevent you from learning the hard way.
Don’t wash your car with hot-hot water.
Don’t wash your car in direct sunlight.
Don’t use a strong soap or chemical cleaner.
Don’t use hard water, especially rusty water.
Don’t use bleach for cleaning your car.
Don’t use steel wool on chrome plating.
Don’t use hard-type brushes directly on the finish.
Don’t let bug, bird and carbon black residue sit for too long.
